And with all that time and money a 25.00 expense in a A/W car(any wheel any tire) will still run better. Get ride of those stupid looking bodies and those training wheels(seriously look at them  ), and go back to running a T-Jet how is was meant to be. Sorry the class used to be a good one but, the horse needs sent to pasture. Hopra needs to lead the wave of the future not dwell on old sorted parts. :peelout:

same here in upstate NY
I would 1 group only races mags
1 group races t-jets and mag cars
5 other groups race t-jets

i think there are a few reasons
1>many of us are old, and can follow the faster cars
2>many like it because they did them as kids
3>the challenge to get them less slow is a lot of fun

I simply race what ever i can, and the challenge for me is to try to build a car that a slow fart like me can drive.

if you do not like t-jets, do not race them!
if you do not like magnet cars, do not race them!

pretty simple

I agree Race what you like , but there is so many that if you have an Opinion that isnt say PRO T-JET they freak out, thats my biggest issue the will always be people that dont agree, but with the T-Jet groups they will run you out in my area . I wish this wasnt the case but it is. Butterbean

Brix--- thank you for the guide and advice. The first thing that must be in place is the DESIRE to build and run these cars. If that is not there ,then it is a no go. A lot of people cannot see the sense of it when a 15 dollar LL with slip-ons is so much faster. I know it is a different animal-- but many look at the bang for your buck thing. Keep enjoying the t-jet world, you seem to be really into it. Its hard for anyone to put together a reasonable racing effort in a lot of classes. Everyone must choose their main area of interest and go with it. Good luck and hopfully I will see you in OHIO.

Bob
You are very correct the desire has to be there as in any slot car raced. Yes I really enjoy working on t-jets but I also enjoy building and racing other types of inline cars. I know they are not my strong suit that is why I get whooped up on in those classes at the Nats. I would not force a class out just because I don't race it and make someone run cars they don't like but, I just don't like the mis information that is being said about the parts not being available and the parts are all picked through, or there is secret stuff not available to everyone. The parts in my cars are all off the shelf parts form the places I listed. My cars also don't cost 3 to 4 hundred dollars either they cost anywhere from 60 to 90 depending on which front ends and rear crown and pinions I use. I do plan on being at the Nats this years and if you want to race the T-jet class I would be happy to loan you a car.

When will HOPRA enforce 'General rule #21' on all the classes
instead of letting the T-jet class slide? No Open wheel cars.
The bodies should be full width,or the tires as narrow as the body.

The first four years that we ran them in HOPRA I loved
the class. In SWMSRA we would have 30 entries. When
the rules got out of whack,(we used HOPRA rules to stay
competetive for the nats),the final T-jet season in SWMSRA
had myself and three other people racing them. Now we have
about twenty five people running G-jets.I got stuck with a
lot of parts I could not use after the rule changes, tuff one
magnets,afx magnets,super 2 magnets,a bunch of road
race replicas GT40s,15 ohm arms and old style brass front
ends.Any time some yahoo would invent a new part,it would
end up in the rules. Now you have new magnets from Dash
and probably a new chassis comming. The word 'Vintage'
does not even apply anymore. It was great while it lasted.

That kinda of sounds like the G-jet from when they first came out. New parts every month and chassis and weights etc.etc.

Hey Tim
I see how racing groups have a good thing and mess it up. I talked to Raceway and they will be ordering JL/AW Cars 10% price and faster what a no brainer. BB

There were only 17 Tjet entries at last years nats.
There were 26 t-jet entries at the 2008 nats.
We used to pull in 50 entries under the earlier rules.

could be because the t-jet racers wanted maybe some more time to setup, and had the share the track with unlimited races!

maybe a weekend race where the rails do not change would be cool and pull more race back in
